Used test: Abarth 124 Spider vs Audi TT Roadster verdict

One of these used cars is a drop-top bargain and the other is a great all-rounder, but which should you choose for your path to wind-in-the-hair glory?...

Used test: Abarth 124 Spider vs Audi TT Roadster

Our Verdict

There’s no doubt the cheaper 124 is the more raucous option here. It's more likely to turn heads from a looks and sounds standpoint, and it's the quicker car in terms of acceleration too. For some, it may prove to be the more desirable sports car.

On the other hand, its interior is too cramped and feels very cheap, and most important of all its handling fails to match that of the TT's. Poor cruising refinement, higher running costs and a poor reliability record also count against it.

So, in the end, the Audi TT Roadster wins this test rather easily. You may have to spend more to buy it, but we believe it's worth it. The TT is the more well-rounded package and it's one that's easier and much more enjoyable to use every day.

So, presuming you can afford the extra, go for the TT. It’s our winner.
