The Peugeot 308 SW is worth considering for its reasonably plush interior and good balance between ride comfort and handling. There are better estate cars out there though. If you do buy a 308 SW, we recommend the Hybrid 136 in Allure trim. Company car users will be better off with the Plug-in Hybrid 195.

Allure is our favourite trim as it comes with 17in alloy wheels, front parking sensors and a rear-view camera, drive modes and sat-nav.

The 51kWh (usable capacity) battery and 154bhp electric motor combine to deliver a 0-62mph time of 9.8 seconds. The official range is 257 miles, or 254 for the SW estate version.
