Review

The Renault Clio represents even stronger value than before and its wide range of abilities makes it a great choice over its rivals. Indeed, it’s fun to drive without sacrificing comfort, its interior is smart and there’s plenty of standard kit. We like the smooth E-Tech 145 hybrid version, but the TCe 90 in Techno trim is a better option for most buyers.

The entry-level trim doesn’t skimp on equipment. It gets everything from automatic full LED headlights and rear parking sensors to automatic climate control and keyless start.

This is the engine to go for if you want the most efficient Clio. It provides decent performance, but the equivalent hybrid engines in the Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris use much less fuel.
