Advice for buyers

What should I look for in a used Seat Leon estate?

On the whole, the Leon Estate is a solid and sensible family car, usually bought by people who look after their cars well. Check the interior for signs of wear and tear and alloys for any kerb damage.

Number of affected vehicles: 2309

Reason for recall: In some vehicles within the range of specified VINs it is possible that they have engine design covers installed that could detach from their fixing depending on use (very sporty driving or poor road conditions) and the operating time.

Is a used Seat Leon estate reliable?

The current Leon Estate was too new to feature in the 2021 What Car? Reliability Survey, but its predecessor, in family car form, did. In petrol guise, it managed a 10th place finish out of 24 cars in the family car class. The diesel version came 11th.

Seat as a brand performed rather averagely, finishing in 17th place out of 30 manufacturers.
