Seat Leon 1.4 eHybrid FR Sport 5dr DSG Review

The model
Read full reviewThe latest Seat Leon is a fantastic all-rounder. Not only does it handle well, come packed with kit and feature a roomy interior, but it should also prove relatively cheap to run thanks to the frugality promised by its petrol engines – especially the 1.5 TSI 130. Indeed, its blend of talents makes this our favourite family car, while the plug-in version is well worth considering, especially for company car users.
get the best priceThe trim
See full equipmentFR trim plays to the Leon’s strengths, with its standard sports suspension making it great fun through the bends. You get more goodies than you do with SE Dynamic trim, too, including an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rain-sensing wipers, climate control and ‘dynamic’ indicators – these illuminate a series in LEDs one after the other, effectively pointing in the direction you’re about to turn.
The engine
See full engine specsThis uses a 1.4-litre petrol engine (shared with the Volkswagen Golf GTE) with an electric motor that bumps up the power to an impressive 201bhp. With a 0-62mph time of 7.5 seconds it's not quite as quick as the more performance orientated GTE (6.7 seconds) or the Mercedes A250e (6.6 seconds) but it still feels pleasingly rapid in the real world.
