The Toyota C-HR's low running costs and good equipment levels partly make up for its relatively high price tag, but its ride, handling and practicality are not as good as the best small SUV rivals'. If you do buy a C-HR, we think the 1.8-litre regular hybrid in Design trim is the best choice.
This trim will only be available for a limited period after the C-HR's launch, but comes with just about every piece of luxury and safety equipment you can think of. It's too pricey to recommend, though.
