    My car

I live in Germany therefore I have been able to drive my ST to its limit on the autobahn's. The ST has fantastic performance with very few other cars been able to maintian such high speed performance. The down side to this style of driving is that fuel consumption has been around the 20mpg mark. As a so called performance car it has not been designed to take such driving becuase i have needed the following repairs: new bake discs, new exaust due to rust, new turbocharger due to coolant leak, new windscreen due to the existing became loose and best of all a complete new engine due to a cracked cylinder block. All these repairs were carried out under warranty. The Ford dealer privately admitted to me that these type of repirs were not unusaul on Focus ST's. MY car is now eighteen months old and has 25k miles I intend to sell it ASAP. I will never buy a Ford again. My car has spent 7 weeks in the garage which I do not find acceptable. The ST is great car to drive when its when its working!

    My car

CHRISTMAS EVE WE COLLECTED OUR IO MONTH OLD FORD FOCUS 1600 ZETEC 100. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT IN RIDE AND HANDLING, AND MOTOR-WAY PERFORMANCE OVER OUR MK 1 1600 LX 52,WHICH NEVER GAVE US A DAY PROBLEM,NOW WITH OUR SON. MY ONLY COMPLAINT ON THE NEW CAR IS IF YOU DO NOT USE THE REMOTE KEY (YOU ONLY GET ONE ) EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE MANUAL KEY THE ALARM GOES OFF, EITHER AT ONCE OR IT MAY GIVE YOU TIME TO GET IN, BUT YOU MUST TURN THE ENGINE ON. THERE IS NO SET PATTERN. IF YOU WANT A SECOND REMOTE KEY IT IS £76 FOR KEY PLUS ONE HOUR FORDS LABOUR AT ABOUT £80 + VAT. FORD DO NOT THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM!

    My car

I drove mostly Far Eastern cars before and wanted some thing different. I thought European cars are usually more refined but problematic compared to Asian cars. But in recent years, I thought Ford should have improved. I narrowed down to The Astra and Focus. I chose the latter because it has just been faced-lifted. I have done 12500 miles in ten months. The Ford Dealers are really unhelpful. They kept my car for eight hours and only managed to sort out one of my five problems at the first service. The car has been leaking water from the rear lens. The Headlight high beam is not working properly. Rear brake light bulb took one day for delivery. As with most parts, it took on average two days to come. The Dealer is not really accommodating in booking me in for a quick fixed and I am having to leave car for a half a day for a minor repair. Driving is very tiresome and the cabin feels cheap, e.g., the door trim and steering wheel. The lack of rear interior light is a problem as I can't put the kids belts on at night as I can't see at the back. I do like the heated front screen especially during this cold winter. I will go back to the Far eastern brands once the credit crunch is over. At least you get better customer service!

    My car

Bought from Ford Direct 9mths ago, when 10mths old with 8k on the clock and at around 55% of list!Best way to buy as one on the forecourt won't have 2 years unlimited warranty/breakdown cover! As these cars are ex Ford employee cars they also tend to have plenty of extras. So I went for one with full leather pack, sunroof, parking sensors, advanced bluetooth,17" alloys. My commute's a mix of town and country roads means it returns 45+ but motorway journeys see it rise to 55+. The 2.0 diesel provides plenty of power especially mid-range but my 2007.5 model lacks the traction control of the newest models.Be careful flooring it in 1st! Overall excellent well-made and spacious car, more room than a friends x-type!The lower cabin trim is somewhat hard but who notices too much as it's below eye-level. If you want a well priced, quality small family car look no further.
