Bought my Ka new in 2001. Problems with the sterio from the day i bought it and even though it was under warranty ford didn't want to know. Havn't had to many problems mechanically. Starting to need money spending on it now though. It's done 47000 miles. Body work terrible. Been kept in a garage from day 1. Falling to bits with rust. Wouldn't have another one for that reason.
what can i say about this great little car, except I'm just about to pass on my five and a half year old car to my daughter and buy another new one! It's nippy, reliable and brilliant fun to drive. I've hardly had to spend any money on it in the time I've had it, apart from the odd tyre and part of the exhaust. It's also good on motorways, although a little noisy at high speed. If I put the back seat down I can get a full weeks shopping in the back, and my rear passengers say it's very roomy. Some of the newer models might look more modern, but the KA will take a lot of beating.
A beautiful drive, power is there if you want it, easy to park. Can drink fuel at high speed which is expected. i have had two collections over the years, no problems with any of them. But like the power of the sports ka, this 60+ grannie loves to give her the wellie! manouvres like a dream.
On my first ford ka ('06) and all i can say is 'love it love it love it' much more nippy than my last car ('03 yaris), also much easier on the petrol. the only downside is the inside, it doesn't exactly scream quality, but it does what it says on the tin and looks great from the outside!!!
