This car is fun and easy to drive. Like they say, it's a perfect town tool and a good buy for the first-time buyer. This car has good handling and feels quite nippy around town although, with time it can start to feel slow. It looks great inside and out and the collection model comes well equipped. The Ka is cheap to run and service and has good fuel economy but depreciates quite heavily.
I had this car after I crashed my Scenic (not my fault). It is terrible. My son, who is one year nine months old, cries because of the shortage of legroom. I would never buy one.
A fantastic driver's car, and once behind the wheel you forget its a small car.
I used it for the past three years to and from work - 110 miles - and each trip never a problem.
But after its 30k service, it started drinking oil at a rate of one litre per 1,000 miles (excessive I feel). Not according to Ford - they stated within their tolerances, which is at max 0.8 litre per 1,200 km
Overall, not a mile muncher but for under 6 grand it's done OK.
I was very disappointed that at two years old, some bird lime went straight through to bare metal and Ford washed their hands of it.
In 30 years of motoring, I have never seen paint go through to the metal like this. I will never buy another Ford.
I also lost a key and was shocked to find it cost over £100 to get a replacement, even though I still had the spare.
It looks to me like Ford sell a cheap car but do not expect it to last!
