Pictures of the 2014 Mercedes C-Class appear to have been leaked online.
Mercedes insiders have previously told What Car? that the styling of the new C-Class borrows heavily from the latest S-Class, and the images above certainly give the impression of a smaller version of the luxury limo.
The pictures claim to show at least two variants of the new C-Class. The car with the bonnet-mounted badge is likely to be a lower-spec model, while the car with the badge sited in the grille has a body kit similar to the AMG Sport trim on the A-Class and CLA.
One of the images shows an adaptive suspension set-up in Comfort mode. We know that the new C-Class will be available with air suspension, as well as the Magic Body Control system that appears in the new S-Class.
Mercedes has already revealed official images of the interior of the new car, previewing the new switchgear and an improved infotainment system. The cabin has the same ‘floating’ screen above the centre console that appears in the new A-Class family, plus an all-new rotary controller and touchpad that will be rolled out across other Mercedes models.
The pictures show only two saloons, but the new C-Class will also be available as an estate and a five-door coupe to rival the Audi A5 Sportback. The second-generation GLK SUV will also be built on this chassis, although unlike its predecessor it will be offered in right-hand-drive markets.
The official debut of the new Mercedes C-Class will be in mid-December, and the car will go on sale in the UK in the spring.
