2017 Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer review - verdict

Given that you can buy a mid-spec SRi with a generous list of standard equipment for a little over £23,000, it’s hard to ignore the Insignia Sports Tourer's keen pricing versus its rivals. It might not be as big as some of them inside, but it’s still a very practical choice that has plenty of room for passengers and their luggage.

Even so, we’d recommend driving the Insignia on a varied route before you pull the trigger. While it’s often a comfortable companion, rivals such as the Superb are comfier across more situtaions, quieter at a cruise and more fun to drive. Furthermore, those buying on finance may find that the Superb's likely-better residual values mean it and the Insignia's monthly repayments are closer than expected.
