Audi launches 355bhp TT RS Plus

This is the Audi TT RS Plus, a 355bhp flagship version of the already extreme Audi TT RS.

The RS Plus gets increased power, additional kit and more aggressive styling in both coupe and roadster forms.

A tuned version of the TT RS's 2.5-litre engine gives the Plus a 20bhp boost over its sibling and with the optional seven-speed S tronic semi-automatic transmission fitted, it'll catapult the coupe from 0-62mph in just 4.1 seconds. Fitted with a manual gearbox, the Coupe takes 4.3 seconds, while the S tronic-equipped Roadster completes the dash in 4.2 seconds, and 4.4 seconds with the manual transmission.

Audi says the TT RS plus will return an average economy of 33.2mpg for the coupe, and 32.8mpg for the Roadster.

Top speed for all versions is now increased from 155mph to an electronically limited 174mph.

Additional standard kit includes 19-inch Rotor design alloys, alongside additional carbonfibre trim and Audis sports exhaust system that's a cost option on the TT RS.

Inside, sat-nav, Bluetooth and an iPod connection are standard, and a new TT RS Plus logo has been added to the gearstick

Prices start from 48,945 for the manual coupe and 50,285 for the S tronic variant. The Roadster is priced at 50,925 in manual form and 52,265 with the optional S tronic transmission.

Order books are open now, with deliveries expected in the summer.
