As Mercedes continues to restructure its naming system, and with the recent reveal of the new Mercedes-Benz SLC, the days of the SLK are numbered.

Such a large saving deserves attention, and at this price the SLK55 AMG offers blistering performance for the price of an entry-level Boxster.
Unexpectedly, the 5.5-litre V8 in the SLK55 AMG offers decent running costs, with claimed fuel economy of 33.6mpg and CO2 emissions of just 195g/km.

Should I add any options?
There’s little chance that the equipment on offer in the SLK55 will leave you wanting, but driving purists will want to sharpen up the handling with the AMG performance package. At £4105 it’s not cheap, mind.
