Deal of the Day: Lease a BYD Seal from £307 per month

The BYD Seal is a sleek electric saloon that offers plenty of bang for your buck, and you could save even more with our deals...

BYD Seal front driving

The BYD Seal does a lot of things well – it has a plush interior, plenty of standard kit and a long electric range. Indeed, it’s a great option if you’re in the market for an electric saloon but Teslas don’t do it for you. Plus, thanks to our deals, you could save a packet on putting a Seal on your driveway.

Our latest deals can get you behind the wheel of a Seal for as little as £307 a month. To do that, you’ll need to sign up for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £3681.24. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.

If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£2329.80), which will cost £388.30 per month.

There are only two versions of the Seal, so it should be simple to find one which best suits your needs. The entry-level version, badged Design, offers a single-motor, rear-wheel drive setup, and is our Deal of the Day. That version can officially travel up to 354 miles on a single charge and provides more than enough juice for most buyers.

If you do have a hankering for more power, you can opt for the Excellence model, which can shoot from 0-62mph in 3.8sec – that’s faster than most versions of the Tesla Model 3. There are some sacrifices, though, with range dropping to 323 miles.

Both versions are pleasantly comfortable to drive, soaking up bumps and potholes and offering an assured amount of control, and there’s the option to activate Sport steering for improved responsiveness.

You won’t have any issues getting settled in the Seal, because it comes with supportive seats that are electrically adjustable and have lumbar support. Visibility could be better, but it’s made up for by the inclusion of a 360-degree camera on every Seal, with footage displayed on the infotainment screen.

Speaking of the infotainment system, you also get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard, and there are big icons on the 15.6in touchscreen that are easy to hit on the move.

Where the Seal really stands out is with its copious amount of standard kit, including 19in alloy wheels, a powered bootlid, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a heat pump, adaptive cruise control and keyless entry.

Even the tallest of passengers will be able to take advantage of the Seal’s generous front and rear leg room. Its 400 litres of boot space isn’t the most plentiful in its category, but it makes up for it with loads of storage in the front, with good-sized door bins, a wireless changing pad good for two phones and a deep cubby beneath the central armrest.
