Hyundai and Kia to stop competing

Future Hyundai and Kia models will become more distinguishable from each other, according to new group design boss Peter Schreyer.

Speaking to What Car? he said: 'We need more differences and to not compete with each other so much. I would like to see different proportions for our models.'

He also admitted that greater differences would emerge between respective cabins. Schreyer told us: 'The interior and exterior have to harmonise, although it is more of a challenge.'

He also didn't rule out the two brands moving further apart on price and the type of cars they produce.
