Kia is recalling 25,192 vehicles in the UK because they may have a faulty brake light switch.

The vehicles affected include the previous model Carens, Sedona, Sorento and Sportage, some current Sorento and Soul models, and a very small number of Optima models built between 2006 and 2011.

In certain circumstances the faulty switch may cause the vehicles brake lights to fail to illuminate or not turn off after the brake pedal is released.

Braking performance isnt affected by the fault and Kia is not aware of any accidents being caused by this problem.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Kia and will be invited to take their vehicles to their local dealer, where the switch will be replaced free of charge.

Any owner concerned can contact Kia Customer Services on 0800 0158757 for further information.
