New Audi Concept C previews all-electric two-seat sports car due in 2027
A new two-seat electric sports car from Audi will draw inspiration from the defining TT coupé...

Audi has unveiled a sporty two-seat concept car which will usher in a new era for the German brand’s design, and it’s set to hit the market in 2027.
Revealed this week ahead of its full debut at the Munich motor show, the concept previews a future two-seat sports car – a segment to which Audi will return two years after its TT coupé was taken off sale.

However, Audi officials have made it clear that the Concept C does not represent a successor to the TT, and it will actually be positioned in between the now-defunct TT and R8 models once it arrives. Electric sports cars are few and far between at the moment, so the Audi production model won't have too many rivals – but there’s the existing MG Cyberster to consider, as well as the upcoming Polestar 6 and Porsche 718 Cayman which are due in the next few years.
When it goes into production, it’s expected that the model that eventually hits the market will retain most of the features that the Concept C previews. The concept gets an electrically retractable hard-top, with the roof separated into two segments, and a slim, vertical front ‘grille’, as well as a new light signature at both the front and rear, showcasing the four rings of the Audi logo.

The production model will be underpinned by technology jointly developed by Audi and Porsche, with a centrally-mounted battery which allows the front seats to sit lower than if the battery was located under the floor, as is common in most EVs.
No battery capacities or power outputs have been revealed yet, but the Concept C gets a single electric motor driving the rear wheels – and it’s expected that a dual-motor version will be available when it goes into production.

Inside, there’s a 10.4in central infotainment touchscreen which can be folded into the dashboard, alongside a driver’s display behind the steering wheel. Physical controls on the steering wheel and centre console are made out of aluminium and designed to be easy to function on the move.
We’re a long way from finding out pricing for the Audi sports car, but when it eventually goes on sale in the next few years, it could start at just under £100,000 – which is in the ballpark of the Audi e-tron GT performance car.
