If there’s one car that could embody the phrase “spoilt for choice”, it would almost undoubtedly be the Porsche 911, which has a seemingly endless range of options to choose from. And if you’re in the market to buy this popular sports car, then you’ve now got an extra three variants of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S to consider.

Indeed, a refresh to the 911 Carrera 4S means it’s now available in three different body styles, each equipped with some new engine tech for boosted power.

The new 911 Carrera 4S now pumps out 473bhp – an additional 30bhp on the outgoing model. That’s thanks to new engine breathing technology borrowed from the 911 Turbo, and Porsche’s upgraded 3.0-litre twin-turbo powered engine from the 911 Carrera S.

This means that the Carrera 4S coupé can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.3sec with the optional Sport Chrono pack. For reference, that’s punchier than a Mercedes AMG GT 55, which has 469bhp and a 3.9sec 0-62mph sprint time.

Available as a coupé, cabriolet and Targa, each version of the 911 Carrera 4S comes equipped with four-wheel drive, with the Targa benefitting from rear-wheel steering for better agility. The engine is matched to an eight-speed automatic gearbox – so if you’re strictly a manual driver, you’ll have to take a look at the 911 Carrera T.

Additional changes include new brakes borrowed from Porsche’s GTS models and a new sports exhaust system that should provide a pleasant soundtrack from the engine.

The 911 Carrera 4S’s interior is furnished with leather, and there’s also some added creature comforts like a wireless phone charger, matrix LED headlights and a wide range of personalisation options.

The coupé is available as a two-seater as standard, but you can specify rear seats at no extra cost. Meanwhile, the cabriolet and Targa both come with a second row of seats.

Prices for the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S coupé start at £127,000. Opting for the cabriolet will bump that up to £137,000, and the Targa up to £137,600.
