The Lexus CT200h will now come with integrated entertainment for rear-seat passengers. Available on all versions, the new pack adds DVD playback options and mounting docks for iPads in the front seatbacks. Packs are priced at £400 with optional wireless headphones available for £40 each.
The DVD player can be linked to both monitors simultaneously or can be specified with two individual outputs, avoiding back seat squabbles. A combination of monitors or iPad docks wil be available. The systems are also removeable, so they can be concealed when not in use.
Kia’s Soul EV is the first electric vehicle the brand has sold outside Korea and is set to challenge the Nissan Leaf. Powered by a 109bhp electric motor, the Soul EV can deploy its full 210lb ft of pulling power from a standstill, completing the 0-62mph dash in 11.2 seconds.
A range of 132 miles is claimed. Recharging to 80% can take 25 minutes if using a fast charger, and a full recharge from a normal mains socket takes five hours. UK models are expected to cost around £25,000 after the Government grant, matching the Nissan Leaf.
The new Citroen C4 Cactus, the firm’s boldly styled SUV, will make its UK debut at the forthcoming goddwood Festival of Speed. The funky new hatch features innovative Airbump technology, an air-filled soft outer skin on the Cactus’ body panels that defend the car from bumps and scrapes.
Powered by Citroen’s latest PureTech petrol and BlueHDi diesel engines, the Cactus goes on sale in autumn 2014 and will cost around £16,000.
Also on display is the new Citroen C1, the firm’s version of the Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo city cars. Available with three or five doors and in hard-top or open-top ‘Airscape’ guises, the C1 goes on sale in July priced from £8,245, rising to £11,935 for the top-spec version.
