Used test: Jaguar F-Pace vs Porsche Macan

Our verdict

There’s no doubt the Jaguar F-Pace is an impressive car, and, bought used in this guise, it’s good value for money, too. It handles well at normal road speeds, sports an impressively roomy interior and comes with plenty of standard kit. However, there’s no ignoring the fact that, when viewed as a sports SUV, it isn’t quite up there with the indomitable Porsche Macan.

So, even in this entry-level specification, the Macan takes the laurels. It’s still the class’s most rewarding car to drive, with a sweet chassis balance and precise steering, and taking into account its strong residual values and good reliability record we think it’s more than worth the small premium you’ll pay at this age over the F-Pace.
