Thanks to those readers who got in touch following the diesel particulate filter (DPF) issue that I experienced recently with my Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer; it was insightful to hear about individual cases from various different marques.
In my previous report, I explained that the Insignia had been fully repaired, and I’m glad to report it’s still running well with no signs of recurrence at this stage.
As I've outlined before, I ended up being without the car for a total of 16 days. To be fair to the dealership, it was a particularly busy period for them, but Go Wimbledon was the outlet that was able to see the car quickest out of the few that I rang across the South.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that seven of those days counted as the lead time on sourcing the replacement part, because – and this was the dealership's explanation – DPF filters tend not to go wrong very often. There’s no question that the work itself was carried out promptly by the dealership, and so far the evidence is that it has been carried out well, too.
