    My car

Bought car new a year ago and done 13000 miles. Fiesta is nippy, economical and fun to drive, space is just OK but i am 6 foot 1 and could do with a bit more room. My mountain bike gets transported on the roof but now want to put a towbar rack on. No running problems at all and quality is ace, however economy suffers with roof racks on by about 15%. Have been looking for something slightly bigger but only the Focus appeals. Overall very happy.

    My car

My parents just bought me an 08 plate Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 TDCi with 4400 miles in metallic sea grey for £8999. What can I say?? This car is awesome and an absolute bargain!!! It looks like the fiesta ST but is more economical, and only a bit slower. The 16” alloys look sweet, as do the large spoiler and body kit. Having learnt to drive in a fiesta when I was 17 I always wanted to own one and had to make do with a ford ka for a year until the insurance came down a bit. The interior of my fiesta is pretty neat. The dials on the dash are easy to read and the trip computer is a God-send giving you miles till the tank is empty. The sports seats are very comfortable and hold you into the seats as you blast round a corner or apex. Also all the controls in the cabin seem to be in the right place. The gear lever is quick to hand and the radio controls are mounted on the steering wheel for ease and safety, but mainly so you can crank up that tune for when you connect an iPod to the system. It also comes with quick clear window screens and air-con.

As for the engine, this is a little gem. It purrs away letting you know its doing its job when you slowly cruise in town traffic, but unleashes a beast when you throttle it on the motorway. The cabin fills with a sudden roar and the exhaust produces a sweet resonant note. Even if you when thrashed the fuel efficiency doesn't drop below 55 mpg. Only £35 tax, low insurance group and 60 mpg makes up 4 it. BUY ONE!!!

    My car

(Zetec blue 08) The fiesta drives much better than the Corsa, Grande Punto, ibiza, polo, Micra, Peugeot, and Clio. Visibility is very good indeed, this was a major problem with the “New” Corsa 3dr.

It is very very well equipped. The blue interior, which is very pleasant and easy to keep clean. The trim on the doors is a tough plastic and looks outdated; there is a pull handle, which feels cheap. The tyres fitted were low profile Pirelli p zero's that do look good and grip well, however they are not the most robust of tyres and are expensive to replace.

The 1.4 TDCI engine is actually very good fun, due in part to it's lightweight construction, It was a lot better than the 1.4 petrol on the test drive. The controls are spot on, the gearbox is actually is pleasant to use, the steering is precise, the automatic lights are very handy, however the auto wipers are not as simple as those on the Focus, this is not a problem for myself, however I am not the only driver in the car, however normal operation is simple.

I would recommend this car. It looks sporty without drawing unwanted attention of police. Friends are always saying how nice it looks, how well it is kitted out, and how quick it is for a 1.4 diesel supermini. It finds favor with different people because of its looks, technology, and even fuel consumption. P.s. ask about the dimondbrite treatment, I would recommend it.

    My car

I bought this the new Fiesta 1.4 CDTi 08 not because it looks nice but because the mpg figures said it would do 80mpg extra urban. As I am trawling up the motorway to Birmingham each week, that made it economical to trade in a 6yr old megane which was getting 44mpg.

For the first 4000miles the fiesta managed 53mpg at its very best. It has now crawled up to 56mpg with just me and minimal luggage so still 30% short of advertised.

Are the car companies all just making up figures for their fuel consumption adverts or is it just Ford. Their customer relations dept. did suggest that Fule Consumption was worked out using rollers and hence didn't take wind resistance into account. Great I will remember that the next time I plan to drive on the moon.

Other than the mpg, it's a lovely car, feels great, drives well........ but that's not the point. Oh and the windscrren wash has just packed up with the first cold snap!
