    My car

We bought this car new in March '04 and apart from normal wear and tear (track rod ends and 1 puncture) we have had no problems whatsoever. Which is a bit of a blow because I never really liked it much from the beginning, she however has loved it like a child. I'm just 6ft tall, I have to stoop to drive it, there is no height adjustment for the seats. If I sit up straight to drive,I'm looking at the front roof lining. Running costs are not as low as we were expecting - averaging about 30 when she drives it, less when its me. We had the last service done by a recommended franchise as opposed to a main dealer because they charge you like a wounded Rhino. They wanted nearly £400. That all said, it does have some really good points-main one for me is in the summer whent the roofs off.Its a bit of a faff to do it but great fun once its done.Just enough room to fit a couple of surfboards behind the rear seats and lean them against the targa style roof. Lots of good stuff on the SE spec and all quite solidly put together too. To summarise, I love it and hate it, bit like watching England play rugby.

    My car

I have had this car for 6 months and I want to get rid of it. The fuel consumption is extortional,I bought it with 42K miles on the odometer, I have clocked 57K now in 6 months but I have had to do the brake pads (£300), the injector (£545) and another £116 to get it checked for smoke. all these expenses within 6 months. I have made a new year resolution to part exchange it for Hyndai. My advice will be please if you will doing such mileage like me then please this is not the car for you, There should be other cars made for us. I found the octavia very economical. I am yet to try it. Then I will decide between the Hyndai and the octavia. I forgot to mention I have just noticed the car is vibrating now, I do not know what is wron with it this time. i will keep you posted on the cost.

    My car

This is easily the most unreliable car we have owned. It's constantly breaking down.

The dealer service levels are terrible, which, given the cost of our last service (£800), is unforgivable.

The last breakdown was on the motorway when the engine lost all power while doing 70mph. We had to wait on the hard shoulder for three hours before Land Rover Assist turned up, only for them to put it on a flat bed and dump it at our house.

Terrible car, terrible sevice. You'd have to be insane to buy one.

    My car

This has got to be the worst car I have ever made the mistake of buying. I've had it 17mths and probably had 17 faults, ranging from sunroof breaking on way to France to the pipe splitting on turbo on way back and getting the French upset with all my black smoke. Then, today, on a motorway and going at speed it feels like I'm putting my foot on the brake for a couple of seconds then releasing it. I've changed the air mass flow metre but it's not cured it.
