We can see how the Lexus UX 300e’s reliability, equipment levels and pleasant driving characteristics would make it a tempting proposition. However, its tiny range, slow charging and lack of practicality make it very hard to justify at the price
The trim
F-Sport Design gives you sharper styling and larger 18in alloy wheels, plus a few more features such as privacy glass and a wireless phone-charger. To get adaptive suspension you’ll have to go for the standalone F-Sport trim.
The engine
Lexus has added a more powerful 300h hybrid system to the UX line-up, with an uprated battery and electric motor. It produces 196bhp, which means it can go from 0-62mph in 8.1sec. That’s marginally quicker than the 250h, but the extra power is more noticeable as you pull away from a standstill. It also offers stronger acceleration at high speeds.
