In isolation, the Grecale looks to be a step in the right direction for Maserati. It offers capable handling and a smart, spacious interior. Our favourite version – the entry-level GT – is quick enough and has the most comfortable ride. Meanwhile, the all-electric Grecale Folgore is comfy but also expensive compared with the electric Porsche Macan, which outclasses it for handling.
The trim
This trim level is specific to the pure-electric version of the Grecale. Standard equipment includes 20in alloy wheels, copper painted brake calipers, heated fron and rear (outer) seats, three-zone climate control, a 14-speaker Sonus Faber sound system and wireless phone-charging.
The engine
This is the pure-electric version of the Grecale, named the Folgore. It’s powered by a 97kWh battery and two electric motors that give it four-wheel drive. Producing 550bhp, this gets the Folgore from 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 137mph.
