Pictures of the 2014 Mercedes C-Class appear to have been leaked online.

Mercedes insiders have previously told What Car? that the styling of the new C-Class borrows heavily from the latest S-Class, and the images above certainly give the impression of a smaller version of the luxury limo.

The pictures claim to show at least two variants of the new C-Class. The car with the bonnet-mounted badge is likely to be a lower-spec model, while the car with the badge sited in the grille has a body kit similar to the AMG Sport trim on the A-Class and CLA.

One of the images shows an adaptive suspension set-up in Comfort mode. We know that the new C-Class will be available with air suspension, as well as the Magic Body Control system that appears in the new S-Class.

Mercedes has already revealed official images of the interior of the new car, previewing the new switchgear and an improved infotainment system. The cabin has the same β€˜floating’ screen above the centre console that appears in the new A-Class family, plus an all-new rotary controller and touchpad that will be rolled out across other Mercedes models.

The pictures show only two saloons, but the new C-Class will also be available as an estate and a five-door coupe to rival the Audi A5 Sportback. The second-generation GLK SUV will also be built on this chassis, although unlike its predecessor it will be offered in right-hand-drive markets.

The official debut of the new Mercedes C-Class will be in mid-December, and the car will go on sale in the UK in the spring.
