Best used luxury cars for £10,000
Luxury cars combine a sumptuous interior with a cosseting ride, but cost a fortune new. Here, though, we count down the top 10 used luxury cars for just £10k.....

7. Audi A8
Buy an A8 and you’ll be getting an extremely capable and desirable luxury saloon with room for a herd of elephants in the back. With it will come all the outstanding qualities we’ve come to expect from Audis of all sizes over the years: the sporty handling, the easy refinement, the effortless and superior feel of the driver and passenger experience. There is an occasionally firm ride, which we’ve also come to expect from Audis of this period – but, hey, you can’t have everything. Should be fairly reliable but parts will be pricey.

Audi pioneered the use of aluminium in its original A8, but Jaguar upped the game with this XJ. Thanks to an aluminium bodyshell, it was lighter and stiffer than the model it replaced, and this all translated into a really good car to drive, as well as a surprisingly efficient one, too. Meanwhile, those svelte lines and leather-lined interior were enough to persuade many that, in terms of luxury motoring, the big cat was the car to be seen in. A question mark over reliability, maybe, but still one of the best.

Cars like the Audi A6 need to fulfill many a requirement. They must be quick, refined, good to drive and well equipped, and have plenty of space and all the latest tech. They must be motorway cruisers, back-street heroes and family holdalls. On top of that, they must be relatively cheap to run, which means they must be reasonably efficient. The A6 combines all of those talents in a suave package that, for a 2014 car, looks like a bit of a bargain.
