A new small electric SUV from Hyundai has been previewed in new teaser images prior to its full unveiling next month in concept form.
The concept will preview a new small electric SUV which is expected to sit in between the Inster and Kona Electric in the Hyundai’s lineup, and will share close relations with the forthcoming Kia EV2.
In these preview images, the concept is kitted out with a ducktail rear spoiler similar to that on the Ioniq 6, as well as an LED light bar spanning the width of the car at the front and a sloping roofline.

Early spy shots also revealed that the upcoming Hyundai model will be similar in size to rivals including the Renault 4 and Ford Puma Gen-E.
It’s expected to be based on the same underpinnings as the upcoming Kia EV2, which is also the tech that underpins most electric cars made by Hyundai, Kia and Genesis.

No technical details have been revealed yet, but we expect the new model to offer a similar setup to what you can find in the larger Kia EV3. With that car, you get a choice of either a 55kWh or 78kWh (usable capacities) battery, with a maximum range in excess of 370 miles, as well as a power output of 201bhp.

Inside, it’s likely the Hyundai production model will receive similar treatment to the EV2, which has a combined infotainment and driver instrument display and ambient lighting.
The Hyundai concept car will be fully unveiled in September, and the production model is likely to go on sale next year following the launch of the EV2. We expect prices to start at around £25,000 – that’s around the same as what you’d pay for a Renault 4, and the Ford Puma Gen-E and Volvo EX30 are more expensive.
