The new Peugeot 108 will cost from £8245 when it goes on sale at the beginning of July.
The 108 is available as a three- or five-door hatchback, with the option of a convertible fabric roof on the mid-spec models. The roof can be opened and closed electrically at any speed. The cabriolet model – called Top – costs £850 more than the equivalent hatchback.
Peugeot will offer the 108 with a choice of two petrol engines – a 68bhp 1.0-litre and an 82bhp 1.2-litre. Both have five-speed manual gearboxes as standard, but a semi-automatic is an option on the smaller engine. CO2 emissions are 99g/km for the 1.2 and 95g/km for the 1.0 – but the latter drops to 88g/km when equipped with stop-start technology.
Spending £8245 gets you a 1.0-litre car in Access trim – only available in three-door form. Standard kit includes LED daytime running lights, remote central locking, a USB port, six airbags and stability control.
Upgrading to Active spec adds £1250 to the price, so you’ll pay £9495 for the three-door car. It’s also the entry point for the cabriolet, which costs from £10,345. This trim gets a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a seven-inch touch-screen infotainment system with DAB digital radio, air-con, colour-coded door handles and mirrors, ‘Mirror Screen’ smartphone connectivity and Bluetooth.
The three-door Allure model costs £10,995 – a £1500 step up from Active trim. Your extra cash adds 15-inch alloys, automatic lights, a reversing camera, leather steering wheel and gearknob, keyless entry and start, plus electrically adjustable heated door mirrors. If you want a cabriolet in this spec with the 1.2-litre engine, you’ll pay £12,245.
Feline spec cars get chrome door handles and mirrors, leather upholstery and climate control, and cost from £11,845.
There are eight body colours, and 108 buyers can personalise their car, choosing from seven themes: Barcode, Diamond, Dressy, Dual, Kilt, Sport and Tattoo.
The new Peugeot 108 city car goes on sale on July 1.
