Skoda Vision C signals future styling
* Vision C could be made * All-new Fabia and Superb coming * Seven-seat SUV here in 2016...
The Skoda Vision C concept gives clear clues to the look of future models, according to company boss Dr Winfried Vahland.
Speaking to What Car?, Vahland admitted that the sleek-looking concept unveiled at this week’s Geneva motor show gives clues to the look of the forthcoming Fabia, due later this year, and the all-new Superb due in 2015.
However, he is not ruling out putting the four-door coupe into production in its own right. ‘Skoda needs more passion’ he said. ‘Personally I’m comfortable with it. If there’s a business case for it, we could make it.’
However, he said his ‘main priority' is putting the replacement models onto the market, plus working towards a new seven-seat SUV which will go on sale in 2016, rivalling the likes of the Hyundai Santa Fe.
A direct replacement for the Yeti is also due around the same time, but Vahland admitted that there are currently no plans to go up against the Renault Captur and Ford Ecosport with a Fabia-based SUV. ‘I wouldn’t say no but it’s not currently in the plan’ he stated.
