Used test: Ford Fiesta ST vs Mini Cooper S

Our Verdict

The Fiesta ST is a truly brilliant hot hatch, but it does look rather pricey compared with a lesser ST-2, which can be found for less money. Nevertheless, hot hatches are fundamentally about having fun, and the ST200 does this far better than the Cooper S. Yes, the Mini has a classier interior and stronger outright performance, but you’ll never make the effort to wake up at 6am on a Sunday just to go for a blast if you owned one. The ST200, on the other hand, will have you wearing a grin from ear to ear every time you get behind the wheel.
