This is the new Volkswagen CC, which made its debut here at the Los Angeles auto show.
It's a face-lifted version of the current Passat CC, but the 'Passat' part of the name has been dropped, so it's now simply called Volkswagen CC. The updated car has a new look, and more high-tech features are available.
At the front, a new bonnet, grille, bumper and headlights bring the CC into line with the latest VW family look. New lights with LED details and a reshaped bumper give the rear a fresh look, while there are more sculpted side sills and new alloy wheel designs.
The interior is available with a fresh brown trim and the choice of a three-seat bench or two individual rear seats remains.
A fatigue detection warning is now fitted as standard, and theres a new Easy Open system that allows drivers to open the boot simply by waving their foot under the rear bumper.
There are no changes under the bonnet, so theres a choice of turbocharged 1.8 and 2.0-litre petrol engines, or 138- or 158bhp 2.0 TDI diesel units. The 3.6-litre V6 petrol has been dropped, however.
Prices are yet to be confirmed, but theres likely to be a small increase over the current car, which costs from 23,630.
The CC goes on sale early next year, with first customer deliveries due in March.
