Which used Renault Zoe hatchback should I buy?

There are two ways of buying a Zoe new, either with the battery included in the price or leasing it separately via a contract. We would recommend the extra peace of mind and lower initial purchase price of leasing, although there is a monthly fee to pay. The same goes for buying a used Zoe – we would buy one with a separate battery lease option. It means that Renault will maintain the battery and even replace it if performance drops below 75% of its original claim. This only applies for the first four years for cars bought with their batteries outright.

If you can afford to buy the post-2015 Zoe, with its 41kWh battery providing a much longer range, we would recommend it. Otherwise, all trims are well equipped. Entry-level Expression Nav gets climate control, Bluetooth and sat-nav, although we would recommend going for Dynamique Nav, as you get not only more luxuries but also a longer range. Top-spec Singature Nav gets leather seats and a reversing camera but looks a little pricey.

Our favourite Renault Zoe: Dynamique Nav Quick Charge
