Space & practicality

How it copes with people and clutter

Two six-footers can happily sit up front, while the second row will take three adults in fair comfort. Each of the three seats slides, folds and reclines individually – that’s a big advantage over fixed rear benches of other hybrids, such as the Hyundai Ionic and the regular Pruis.

However, most seven-seat MPVs offer the same seating flexibility with much more space for passengers, especially those in the rearmost two seats, which are really for occasional use or children only.

The boot is a decent size and will take a reasonable amount of luggage, but because the wheel arches intrude and limit its width, you’ll fit more paraphernalia in the boot of a Volkswagen Touran or Citroën Grand C4 Picasso.
