The Volkswagen Touran might not seem as desirable as a seven-seat SUV, but it remains roomy, practical and very well built. It’s more refined than its van-based rivals and better to drive than a bulkier SUV. The 1.5 TSI 150 petrol provides good performance, balanced with reasonable running costs. The Touran appears to be a really good used buy on paper. However, there are reliability concerns that hold us back from fully recommending it. A shame, because in all other areas it's a tremendous MPV.
The trim
The most expensive and least recommendable trim; you pay a lot of money over the SEL for mainly sportier looks and bigger 18in alloy wheels.
