Matt Prior has written car reviews for What Car? and its sister title, Autocar, since 2005.

Formerly an automotive engineer, Matt has appeared as a motoring commentator on national radio and television, and across YouTube presenting car reviews and feature videos. Matt has written his weekly Autocar column, Tester's Notes, since 2013, and is a co-presenter of the My Week In Cars podcast, which has more than 250 million downloads to-date. He has also previously written for Channel 4, and was world rally editor for its automotive website, 4Car. More recently, he is a regular contributor to Move Electric and Classic & Sports Car.

Outside of writing, Matt holds a race licence and owns a number of classic cars and motorbikes, some of which move under their own steam.
