Unless you've been residing in a cave for the past few years, you'll have noticed that electric vehicles are no longer reserved for delivering milk. They're now really quite quick and, with bigger batteries leading to ever-increasing maximum ranges, are becoming easier to fit into people's lifestyles.

The BMW i3 is at the forefront of this movement into the mainstream. The latest 120Ah model offers a realistic range of 'up to 160 miles' accordingly to its maker, and while the regular car is far from a slouch, the sporty i3s variant is really very nippy indeed.

The i3s also backs its extra poke up visually, with a more aggressive front bumper, wider wheel arches and a black roof. But which version should you buy? Or, indeed, are there other electric cars that would suit you needs better? Read on over the next few pages for everything you need to know.

Or, if you've already made up your mind, head over to our deals section for some tempting offers on the i3.
