Which used Mazda MX-5 sports should I buy?
The engine choice is quite simple, since there are only two to choose from. If you spend most of your time in town, or you need something with cheaper insurance costs, then the 1.5-litre petrol is a fine choice.
We prefer the more powerful 2.0-litre because it offers that bit more performance and it also comes with a limited-slip differential that makes it even better to drive. And the fuel economy penalty isn’t so great that you would notice it.
Equipment levels are rather good; we would seek out an SE-L Nav car, because you get a 7.0in colour touchscreen with sat-nav, Bluetooth, DAB radio, climate control, cruise control and some extra bits of trim to smarten up the dashboard.
