Introduction
What Car? says...
The Mercedes GLC Coupe is one of an increasing number of high-rise SUVs that sacrifice a bit of practicality for a big dollop of style. Rather than a squared-off tail that prioritises rear head room and boot space, the GLC Coupe’s roofline gently tapers towards the rear of the car, giving a sleeker silhouette. It’s no illusion, either; the Coupe is a bit longer and lower than the regular Mercedes GLC.
As with the regular GLC SUV, there’s a decent choice of engines. These range from the sensible 220d diesel all the way up to the brawny AMG-fettled GLC 63 Coupe, which gets a big petrol V8 petrol engine and it's own separate review. If you’re environmentally conscious or just want to lower your company car bills, there are even a couple of plug-in hybrids to choose from. All come with an automatic gearbox as standard and four-wheel drive to help out in slippery conditions.
