2010 Ford Galaxy and S-Max

The Ford Galaxy and S-Max MPVs are to be revamped for 2010.
The revised Galaxy and S-Max will be revealed in the metal at the Brussels motor show on January 13.
Both cars will get greener drivetrains, a face-lift and more technology to improve safety and comfort.
All-new petrol engine
The Galaxy and S-Max will be the first vehicles to be available with Ford's all-new 200bhp 2.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine. This gives the Galaxy a 0-62mph time of 8.8 seconds, while the S-Max reaches 62mph in 8.5 seconds.
Power is up by 25%, on the previous 2.0-litre engine, but CO2 emissions are down by 19% to just 189g/km. Both vehicles will manage an average 34.8mpg.
Improved diesel
Improved versions of the 2.0-litre Duratorq turbodiesel engine are also available. The upgraded engines comply with Euro V emission regulations and come in three power options (113bhp 138bp and161bhp) for the first time. CO2 emissions are 152g/km, with average fuel economy at 49.5mpg.
More safety kit
The cars will be the first Fords in Europe to get the company's new Blindspot Information System. Also on board is the new Adjustable Speed Limiter Device, which prevents drivers from unintentionally exceeding speed limits that they've set.
Higher-trim models also get LED daytime running lights as standard, with LED lighting for the interior, too.
Passenger comfort gets a boost with an enhanced climate control system, which controls the cabin air more sensitively.
Styling updates
The S-Max gets a re-sculpted bonnet, along with a new lower front bumper. The side windows are enhanced by a chrome strip around them. The rear gets a revised tailgate and new LED tail-lights, which are linked by a horizontal chrome strip.
The Galaxy also gets a revamped bonnet and a new grille with chrome detailing. There are new LED lights, too.
The cars go on sale in early 2010, with prices being revealed closer to the launch date.
