2013 Aston Martin DB9 launched

The revised Aston Martin DB9 is available to order now and will arrive in dealerships in October. It will replace both the current DB9 and the Virage coupe.

The most significant upgrade is a new V12 engine a version of which will be used in the upcoming Vanquish. The new engine produces 510bhp, 21bhp more than the outgoing Virage, and 40bhp up on the previous DB9.

There are tweaks to the styling, both inside and out, with a deeper front airdam, a more pronounced flick to the boot, new headlamps and a selection of detail changes to the interior.

Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes are fitted as standard, while the latest version of Aston Martins Adaptive Damping System allows the driver to select between Normal, Sport and Track suspension set-ups.

The face-lifted DB9 gets revisions to the bonnet, front bumper and grille, which will enable the new DB9 to pass the latest European pedestrian-protection regulations.

The DB9 will cost 131,995 6945 more than the outgoing model, but 18,000 less than the Virage it also replaces. Orders are being taken now, with the first cars expected to arrive in dealerships in October.
