2013 Skoda Octavia prices and specs

Prices and specs for the new Skoda Octavia hatchback have been revealed, ahead of the car's launch in March.
The entry-level 1.2 TSI (our favourite version of the outgoing model) will cost from 15,990, while the range-topping 2.0 TDI will be priced at 21,990.
This represents a price hike of almost 2000, although as Skoda is quick to point out, the new Octavia is bigger and much better equipped than the car it replaces.
Even entry-level S versions come with alloy wheels, air-conditioning, Bluetooth, a DAB radio, a six-disc CD changer and seven airbags.
Until now, the Octavia has been the budget offering in the VW Group's small family hatch line-up, but this new model will be pricier than entry-level versions of the Seat Leon.
The repositioning also creates a wider price gap between Skoda's own Rapid saloon, which starts at 12,995.
