Audi A6 Allroad quattro prices revealed

Prices for the Audi A6 Allroad quattro - a more rugged version of the A6 Avant - have been revealed.

As with Audis other Allroad models, the A6 Allroad gets an SUV-style makeover, with chunkier wheelarches, side cladding panels and a new front grille with vertical slats.

There are re-designed front and rear bumpers, too, with stainless steel under-body protection panels. The lower bumper sections and sills are painted in a contrasting colour and exclusive Java Brown paintwork is available.

The A6 Allroad sits 6cm higher than the Avant; all versions have four-wheel drive and adjustable air suspension.

Theres a choice of 3.0-litre V6 petrol or diesel engines. The 3.0 TFSI has a supercharged V6 petrol engine with 306bhp. Average fuel economy is 31.7mpg.

There are two 3.0 TDI diesel options. The 201bhp entry-level version averages 46.3mpg and has CO2 emissions of 159g/km. All three engines come with Audis S-tronic dual-clutch transmission as standard.

Options include a load-securing kit to stop smaller items moving around in the boot, a head-up information display and a panoramic glass roof.

Theres also a mobile phone preparation option that includes a WLAN hotspot for internet connection.

Audi hasnt confirmed full prices and spec, but the cheapest model is 43,145. The A6 Allroad quattro is available to order now, with first customer deliveries expected in the spring.

The A6 Allroad quattro will make its public debut at the 2012 Geneva motor show in March.
