Citroën Berlingo and Spacetourer MPVs reintroduce petrol and diesel engines
Citroën has brought back combustion fuel for its Berlingo and Spacetourer MPVs, which will be sold alongside their electric equivalents...

New engine options are now available with the Citroën Berlingo and Spacetourer MPVs, reintroducing traditional combustion fuels alongside the current electric offerings.
A new 108bhp petrol engine has joined the lineup for the five-seat Berlingo M. There are also two diesel options available with both the five-seat M and seven-seat Berlingo XL body styles, offering either 99bhp with a six-speed manual gearbox, or 128bhp with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. That means the most potent engine is punchier than the diesel rivals you'll find in the Ford Tourneo Connect or Volkswagen Caddy.

All of those engines will be available alongside the all-electric version, the ë-Berlingo. That model comes powered by a 52kWh battery, which is officially good for 212 miles on a single charge.
The Spacetourer has also gained a new diesel option, offering 178bhp in both its M and XL forms, which can be had with up to nine seats. It offers more power than a diesel Volkswagen Multivan and an entry-level diesel Mercedes V-Class.
Like the Berlingo, the Spacetourer is also available with all-electric power in the form of the ë-Spacetourer. Powered by a 75kWh battery, it gets a slightly longer maximum range than the ë-Berlingo, at 215 miles.

Both the Berlingo and Spacetourer are available in two trim levels: Plus and Max. Entry-level Plus trim features a 10in infotainment touchscreen on both models with wireless smartphone mirroring, LED headlights on the Spacetourer and rear parking sensors on the Berlingo.
Top-spec Max trim adds a 180-degree reversing camera to help you park on both models. Range-topping versions of the Berlingo receive special comfort seats and a heated leather steering wheel, while top-spec Spacetourers get powered sliding doors, dual-zone climate control and leather seats.
Electric versions of both models also come with vehicle-to-load capability, meaning you can use the car’s battery to charge up external devices like kettles or electric bikes, for example.

The diesel-engined Citroën Spacetourer will arrive in autumn. It will be priced from £41,925, making it more cheaper than both a Renault Trafic Passenger and Volkswagen Multivan.
Meanwhile, the new petrol- and diesel-engined Citroën Berlingo will arrive later this year, and will be priced from £23,915 and £24,515 respectively. That means both the petrol and diesel versions undercut the Ford Tourneo Connect and Volkswagen Caddy.
