Design your own child car seat cover

Child car seat manufacturer Maxi-Cosi is running a competition for children to design their own car seat covers.

The competition is being run in conjunction with Halfords, whose own research shows that 87% of parents are still confused about child seats since the introduction of new legislation in September 2006.

This legislation requires that children must seated in a child restraint appropriate to their age and weight if the child is less than 1.35m tall and under 12 years of age.

The competition is intended to help raise awareness of these rules, so there are three categories corresponding to the age range - three-and-a-half to five years old, six to eight years old and nine to 12 years old.

To enter, children can pick up a design leaflet from a Halfords store or download the sketch of a Rodi XR seat from www.maxi-cosi.com.

Three winners will be chosen, and they can win a Rodi XR seat with their own design on the car seat cover.

The competition closes on March 28, and the winners will be contacted in April.
