Ford expands Fiesta Econetic range

The Ford Fiesta Econetic range has been expanded to include higher-spec Zetec and Titanium trims.

The 78mpg supermini was available only in entry-level Edge versions. Buyers can now opt for a 14,445 Zetec Econetic version, which comes with alloy wheels, front foglights and a leather steering wheel.

Titanium Econetic models cost 15,645 and get DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, privacy glass, climate control and automatic headlights and wipers.

All versions come with Ford's 1.6 TDCi engine, which averages 78.5mpg and emits 95g/km of carbon dioxide in the Fiesta.

To help achieve this impressive economy and low emissions, Econetic models have;

• rear air deflectors to improve aerodynamics
• lowered suspension
• low-rolling-resistance tyres
• low-friction oil
• gearshift indicator light
• tweaked gear ratios.

Earlier this month, Ford announced that an even more fuel-efficient version of the Fiesta a Fiesta Econetic Technology will go on sale next year. It averages 85.6mpg and has CO2 emissions of 87g/km.
