Free electricity for plug-in shoppers

A major shopping centre chain is offering free charging facilities to owners of electric cars.

Visitors to Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) premises in Glasgow, Norwich, Uxbridge, Bromley, Watford, Thurrock, Gateshead, Stoke-on-Trent and Nottingham will have access to free charging facilities while they are shopping.

The scheme has been launched in conjunction with the Energy Saving Trust, and is the first new venture of its kind to be launched nationally within shopping centre car parks.

CSC says the scheme will raise awareness of the cost and environmental benefits of using electric cars, as well as making life easier for all those who already drive electric cars.
