How to get a free service or repair

The first winner in a free, monthly Motor Code survey draw has been announced and will have 308-worth of service work paid for.

Alec Cooper from Yorkshire was entered into the draw after filling in a survey on the service he got from Halls Auto in Richmond, and was selected during whatcar.com's live Q&A last week.

The survey is used to monitor the quality of service offered by garages and to provide feedback on how it can be improved.

Each month, one motorist who completed the survey will be selected during our live Tuesday Q&A and receive work up to the value of 500.

There are 6500 garages signed up to the Motor Code for Service and Repair, which was established in response to criticism of standards within the industry.

The code is designed to provide motorists with reassurance when picking a garage for service or repair work, and offers conciliation and arbitration in the event that things go wrong.
