New small performance car for Infiniti

Infiniti will reveal a new small performance car concept at the Geneva motor show in March.

Few details have been released at this stage, and a silhouette of the car is the only image that's been revealed. The car would become the smallest model in the range if it were to be put into production.

Fitting in below the G coupe and convertible means the car would be around the same size as an Audi A3 or Lexus CT200h.

There are no details on powertrains yet, but Infiniti has access to diesel engines and is rolling out hybrid systems across its range.

Senior vice-president of Infiniti Andy Palmer said: 'Infiniti is currently examining concepts for a luxury performance car that will fit below the current G line. Like every Infiniti, it will be completely different to anything currently offered by our rivals.'
