Nissan GT-R Nismo confirmed

A Nissan GT-R Nismo has been confirmed as Nissan announces plans to launch a new Nismo road car each year.

Nismo is Nissan's performance brand, in the same way AMG is to Mercedes. It tunes Nissans to improve their performance and adds styling touches such as lower bumpers, wider wheelarches, spoilers and Nismo badges.

The first to arrive is the Nissan Juke Nismo, which is already on sale in the UK. It starts at 19,995, is available with either two- or four-wheel drive and produces 197bhp. The two-wheel-drive Juke Nismo goes from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds. The four-wheel-drive version covers the same dash in 8.2 seconds.

The next Nismo model will be the Nissan 370Z Nismo. It will get Nismo styling upgrades and improved performance including a power boost to 339bhp. UK sales are expected to start in June with a price of around 34,000.

The Nissan GT-R will also receive the Nismo treatment. There's no word yet on performance, pricing or when we can expect to see the car, but more information will be revealed towards the end of the year.
